Leave your vehicle when safe to do so.
Make sure you are a reasonable safe distance from the road.
If and where possible, behind the safety barriers.
If you are on a motorway or causing a hazard, always remember to call the Police or Highways England immediately to report the hazard.
Remember, never return to your vehicle until instructed to do so.
